Synopsis
'Bridges of Trust' is an ethnographic documentary that examines the delicate processes of building trust in contexts of intercultural encounter and collaboration. The film was presented at a colloquium on February 5, 2024, in Berlin.
Drawing on Igor Karim's extensive fieldwork experience across Brazil, Ethiopia, and Nigeria, the film interrogates how trust operates as a foundational element in ethnographic filmmaking itself—between filmmaker and subject, between researcher and community.
